- The board has decided on the basis of increased costs for website maintenance etc. to increase the regular membership fees from
€75 to €85. Membership runs for periods of three years, from one TISLR conference to the next. The reduced fees for student members and members from developing countries will stay the same (€25).

As you will have realised if you are going to TISLR10, which we hope you all are, you must be a fully paid-up member of SLLS if you intend to present. This applies to TISLR 10 and all future TISLR conferences. We would like to announce a special deal on membership fees for SLLS in connection with TISLR 10. Anyone who joins now for the first time can pay the regular fee of €85 for the whole period from now until TISLR11 in 2013. As a member, you will of course enjoy all the benefits of membership and you will be able to vote at the SLLS General Meeting at the start of the conference. Current members may also renew their membership now or, at the latest, at the end of TISLR10.

- The next General Meeting of SLLS will be held during the TISLR meeting; a new SLLS board will be elected from the current members during this meeting. More information can be obtained by email from the current board members.
- We have started an online SLLS newsletter, available to all members. First log in to the web site, then go to Newsletter (also in the menu bar). Please keep us posted about any news you would like to share: conference announcements, new books, job opportunities, etc.
- SLLS members receive a 10% discount on personal subscriptions to Sign Language Studies. Also note that the complete archive of the old journal (1972-1993) is now available on a single CD-ROM with PDF files!
- SLLS members now receive a discount when subscribing to the German Gesellschaft für Gebärdensprache und Kommunikation Gehörloser, including the journal Das Zeichen.
